About Victoria Fombelle
Counseling Intern
My Objective
Whatever challenges are impacting your life, you don't have to face them alone. That's where I come in – to help you heal, gain new insights and perspectives, and develop the tools you need to best care for yourself. At the heart of my approach is the importance of building an authentic, egalitarian therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, and best able to work towards your goals in a supportive environment
My counseling approach combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy methods with person-centered and strengths-based principles. Since every client has different needs, goals, and nuances, the two of us will work together to develop a treatment plan that is as unique as you and able to grow with you. I am also a big believer in integrating creativity and the arts with the counseling process, however that may manifest for you. |
I am currently an intern studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Roosevelt University. In addition to my coursework, I am an active member of RU's Multicultural Partnership of Organizers Working for Equity and Resilience (M-POWER). I am also involved with a research team focused on studies promoting racial equity.
As a gay woman, my clinical passion is working with LGBTQIA+ clients. I embrace the importance of each client's unique cultural identities and intersectionality, creating a counseling environment that is culturally humble, open, and relevant.
In my free time, I love playing guitar, rock climbing, going on nature walks, writing, performing stand-up comedy, gaming, and spending time with my loved ones and two cats.
