A New Day, A New You

Frequently Asked Question

Finances

What insurance is accepted?
  • We are in network with BCBS PPO, Aetna, and Cigna

Are other insurance plans usable?
  • Some plans provide different levels of out-of-network benefits. You can check with your insurance company, or contact us and we will attempt to check your benefits.

How much are sessions with insurance?
  • This will vary from plan to plan, and we will attempt to verify benefits prior to your first appointment. The best way to find out is to call the customer service number on the back of your card. If asked, you can provide them with our NPI number (1750807749), and CPT codes 90837 for individual therapy or 90847 for family therapy.

What do all of these insurance terms mean?
  • BCBS provides an explanation here. If you need any additional clarification for your specific plan, let us know and we can review your benefits together.

What is the cancellation policy?
  • Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will incur an automatic $100 charge. In the event of serious emergencies, please contact us and we will either find a time to reschedule with you or waive the fee.

How much are sessions out of pocket?
  • Intake sessions are $200
  • Standard sessions are $185

Do you offer a sliding scale?
  • Yes, we do. Please contact us and we will work together to determine a rate that can work for you.

Appointments

What is therapy about?
  • Most people come to see us because they have found themselves stuck in some way and have struggled to find a way out. It is our goal to teach you various psychological techniques and provide you with the resources to become unstuck.

What happens for the first appointment?
  • After you have scheduled and received confirmation of your appointment, you will receive some intake forms. Completing these prior to the first appointment allows us to spend more time focusing on you and your goals instead of doing paperwork.

How long do sessions last?
  • Each session is approximately 50 minutes in length.

How frequent are appointments?
  • For the first several session, it's preferable to have weekly appointments to help create the initial groundwork for change. After implementing a few therapy techniques, we will figure out what sort of schedule makes the most sense for your goals.
