“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” – Maya Angelou
Life brings both challenges and moments of growth, and therapy can be a powerful space to explore it all with support and authenticity. My intention as your counselor is to guide you through life’s complexities, whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions. I offer a collaborative and compassionate environment where your thoughts, emotions, and experiences are met with curiosity and care. I strive to approach therapy with authenticity and compassion and believe that each individual requires a personalized therapeutic approach. My approach is integrative and person-centered, rooted primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable thoughts or feelings, ACT helps you relate to them differently so they no longer control your choices. I aim to help clients explore how to live in alignment with their values, empowering them to live courageously and authentically, even in the presence of life’s challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and am currently completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University. Outside of sessions, you can often find me walking by the lake, planning new travel adventures, or reading a new book. |
